UK National Lottery Review

Introduction and Overview: The Lowdown on The UK National Lottery – At Quick Glance

It’s all in the numbers, they say. It does seem to be true; the numbers do matter to you. The numbers representing your yearly pay, your telephone number, your apartment or house number, your birth date and especially - The UK National Lottery ticket number that you just picked, might have far reaching sentimental, personal or related significance. Do not dismiss it. We all play what our gut instinct tell us and what we prefer, feel are the right ones. Some prefer the random draw and tempting lady luck to smile in their favor!

The UK National Lottery, is in the business of making people lucky since 1569. It has some 72,050 terminals and 32,126 instant terminals all across the UK. The UK National Lottery is different from other lottery houses in Europe, being the first such lottery house to be owned privately and not by the government. Here’s how to play The National Lottery and some tips to get you started.

Step # 1: The numbers, the numbers, its all in the numbers

Firstly, if you want to decide the numbers of your lottery, think of some. On the lottery pay slip there are boxes called boards where you punch in the numbers you want. If you want lady luck, which is a computer algorithm, to choose your numbers for you, then select the lucky dip option. Do not select the lucky dip option and punch in your numbers in the same boards. If you want to pick up another six numbers or lucky dip, you can use another board.

If possible choose one lucky dip and pick up another six numbers from your head and enter it into the next board, getting two tickets, doubles up the chances of you winning, half’s up the odds.

Step # 2: Making Sense of The draws

There are two draws, Wednesday and Saturday, check the one you want, against “Which Draw?” on the terminal. If you want to play the same numbers on both draws, there is an option called “Both” check that option. Your selection of the numbers will be routinely entered in both, the Wednesday and the Saturday draws, with just one payslip. You can play the lottery with the same set of numbers and the same payslip, for both the draws for up to eight weeks by just entering the number of weeks in the payslip.

Step # 3: Punching the tickets

After all the details have been entered by the retailer, being paid, he or she issues you, your national lottery ticket. Check your ticket against the numbers you have chosen, if any, check all the other details. Check that the bar-coded serial number is clear and readable and the void box on your ticket is not marked. Your ticket is your only proof, if you win the lottery, so I did keep safe. Write your name and address behind the ticket, be sure not to miss out on the spellings.

Step # 4: Rolling over the pot

After four consecutive draws, the jackpot is not won by anyone, the winnings are then shared between who ever has five of the six main numbers and the bonus, in the next draw.

Some things to keep in mind, if any of your six numbers match in any order with the winning numbers; you have won the jackpot; although the odds of this happening are 1 in 13,283,916. So are you feeling lucky today? Get yourself some winning numbers.

Step # 5: Club your wins and buy more lottery tickets.

It is always about numbers isn’t it? Playing lotteries in numbers, as you found out, is a profitable, win-win situation. For the UK National Lottery, predicted estimates suggest that out of every eight lottery grand prize winners, one is not an individual, but a member of a lottery club or a lottery pool.

Joining a lottery pool or a club can be fun, lower down your ticket costs, and alternative increase the chances of winning the lottery, with a greater frequency of wins. The critical downside of being a part of a lottery club is that you have to share your wins. A lot goes into the practice of joining or starting a lottery pool or a club. Before you actually jump right in, here are something’s that you will need to decide with your peers.

Which draw to play? Some pools or clubs play both, of the UK National Lottery, the Saturday and the Wednesday draws. This also depends on the kind of investment the club can put in and that brings us to your next question.

How much does or can each member contribute? While in a pool or club, you buy tickets in bulk, you did have to decide how many tickets, does the club or pool going to buy. On deciding that, you can may be assign the number of tickets one person buy, which will decide how much does one person contribute to the lottery pool.

How many members will be there in the club or the pool? This could have a very sharp and direct effect on your earnings, if you win. If the number of members is less, then the odds are high, in which case you are better off playing the national lottery your self. If the number of members is too high then your share of the winning pie will be directly affected and will be shorter. Try to reach an ideal number, while creating a lottery pool or join a lottery pool having optimal number of members. The ideal number of members is usually 5 to 15 per pool or lottery club.

Who decides the numbers and how do you decide them? Be creative, you and other members of your pool, will only come up with limited numbers. Use wheeling systems, as in the famous wheel with numbers all over it, as in the roulette wheel, only vertical, will be good enough. Many UK lottery pools also use the lucky dip option.

Who will be the members of the pool or the club? It is very much advisable to have family members, close relative and friends as pool members. Not only it makes playing lottery more fun and brings you closer, while you guys sit together, watch the lottery results or decide on the next weeks numbers and so on, it also removes any trust issues involved due to money.

Also think about points like member cancellations, distribution of win money, amount of contribution and so on.

Getting Started: Synergizing Aptitude, Know-how & Attitude: Lotteries Are What Dreams Are Made Up Of!

Ever had a friend come up and say to you, that he or she had a dream last night about winning the UK National Lottery. Well, I have had that happen. Not to name names, but according to this particular friend, he started buying tickets for the lotteries believing that he had a dream of winning the UK National Lottery’s Jackpot of something around 2,130,000 pounds. What is so tantalizing is the fact that he said, he saw the sequence of digits that he chose and he had won. My particular friend has been playing the UK National Lottery with the same sequence since last year, with no respite.

This led me do some research on my own and finding out that, there’s a whole business dedicated to these types of phenomena.  There are various so-called “dream teachers”, who teach you how to dream the perfect number combinations, then enter and win the draws. Of course they do so for a price.

On asking my friend if he did visit such marvelous beings from the cosmic side of the universe, he came clean and said he did. Well to his credit, he still hasn’t given up and is very optimistic of winning the jackpot. I hope he does.

Here’s the part that you as lottery buyer should understand, you should buy the ticket, week after week, till you actually do win, but because you are optimistic, because you have faith and because you believe that your karma should return something, something totaling the jackpot might not guarantee you a sure win!

On the other hand, should you ever get a dream of winning the lottery by your own inspiration, without being coerced into having dreams, you should even buy a lottery ticket regardless, then, you really never know. Lady luck and random chance might just smile on you!

The lottery by itself is not your life, maybe it will improve your life, if you do win, but life doesn’t stop there. It is true that you shape your own destiny and direction in life, take chances, jump and hope that you come out as the victor. So instead of trying to dream the right number sequence, buy the lottery tickets, buy two or more if you can, with varied combinations of numbers, play the lucky dip for sometime, take a chance.

Trust your instincts, if you can come with the numbers, good enough, if you can not; take help from loved ones, family, friends, or automated sequence generators. But do not hire someone who claims to be able to teach you to dream the sequence of the winning draw.

If that were possible, why would there be the UK National lottery?  You can even calculate the odds of you winning the lottery in your lifetime by some mathematic calculations; you can even increase such odds by joining or starting the Lotto pool or club, maybe increase them more by buying the lottery tickets in bulk, if you can afford it, that is. These and many other strategies are introduced here. You can personalize and customize your best chance at winning! Whatever it may be, be real and optimistic, that’s all you require to win the UK National Lottery.

Strategy # 1: Lucky strikes

For you to win a lottery, does not mean that you have to be a member of Mensa or for that matter, have any skills or talents whatsoever really. Winning the lottery is entirely the product of chance and good karma (or so many would argue!).

This translates to the point that the odds against you winning the lottery are constant, never-changing and fixed. What it further simplifies into, is the fact that no matter which draw you participate in for a given lottery, the odds will remain the same every week. Say for example the odds of anyone winning the National UK Lottery is 1 to 2,125,586,70 for this Wednesday’s draw and it will remain the same for the next Wednesday’s draw, unless the rules of the Wednesday draw are changed.

Well, now knowing what you know, what if you buy twenty tickets of the UK National Lottery? What happens to your odds then? Well they do remain the same,  but you will increase the chances of winning the draw by twenty times. Buying twenty, thirty or forty tickets a week, of the UK National Lottery does create a hole in your pocket, and is not economical at all since the odds don’t favor you when you buy more tickets. But yet, it does work its magic for you, increasing your odds of winning! You do the math!

Why not then join a Lottery club or syndicate of pool, whereby you, along with other members, could buy a number of lottery tickets weekly, increasing the chances of you winning even more, on the condition that you did have to split the wins, but you might and will still be rich (if you do win!). In a sense, getting the best of all opportunity and potential promise/winnings.

You can also learn mathematic algorithms that might help you generate a number sequence that would have a fair chance of winning the national lottery. These algorithms are based on the previous lottery numbers that won. These can then help you average out your chances of winning the next lottery draw, remember that although this may increase your chance of winning the lottery, it never does guarantee that you do/will.

Lotteries like the rest of our lives are completely based on chance, maybe even destiny.  No one I know, just got up one day and said that he or she was going to win the UK National Lottery jackpot. The numbers of people actually playing the lottery increases day by day. These people are like many of us, who, hope, pray, try to be optimistic, even indulge in religious offerings,  so that they can win the national lottery.

If only so much effort was put in to other humanitarian missions. With the lure of money, especially money in a jackpot, holds for humans, why do people gamble, why are people always trying to beat the odds, knowing very well what the odds against them are and that there is quite a large possibility they might not win. No one will ever know. If only people were this optimistic in every other parts and areas of their lives, how the world would have been or might still be a very different place to live and exist in!. In a way I am glad the national lotteries are around, they will always continue to give hope to millions. Regardless of how flickering and fickle that light of promise and hope might be!

Strategy # 2: It is all a matter of perspective: Is your glass half empty or half full?

More than luck playing lottery,  requires optimism. I haven’t come across a lottery player, who threw away his or her lottery ticket, albeit it seems a possibility, just because the odds were against him or the odds for him or her, to actually win the lottery were high.

Lottery players, all over the world and not just the UK National Lottery players,  need to be quite optimistic, even to the levels of dreaming about what they are going to do with so much money, if they win.

You need to be optimistic day after day, draw after draw, jackpot after jackpot and still be at it, still dream and believe that you are surely going to win, surely going to beat the odds one day…and maybe you will, but until then,  hope is pretty much all you’ve got!

Many of us are not so optimistic in other parts of our lives. Optimism is a skill, rather than an inane characteristic. You have to build it, like any other talent or skill you have, and keep updating it. Lotteries are a way to, maybe, do just that.

What’s the UK National Lottery got to do with your optimism skill sets? A lot, because if you are and remain optimistic, you contribute to the world of art, economic and institutional education, every time you buy a lottery ticket. You being optimistic and actually buying the national lottery tickets, will have resounding impact, as a significant part of the receipts go to charity and various government funded life improvement funds.

Just by being optimistic in one area of your life, you are beneficial to so many others, why not be optimistic in other areas of your life as well, where it really does matter. It is a proven fact that optimism also makes lives happier, satisfied and longer, lives of people around you and yours can continue to be touches with and through your support of the UK National Lottery.

Do you remember buying your first lottery ticket? You were so skeptical about it, that thinking and hoping that you did win it, it felt almost fake, to the extent that you were checking the draw results maybe through someone else or maybe even after the fact, or potentially not at all!

Optimism at first seems to be fake and unreal; somewhat unnatural even.  You might be trying to admit to yourself that the glass is actually half full and not half empty! Both, on their own are true. Know this from the experience of buying the UK national lottery tickets day after day, draw after draw, you know your expectations rise, your optimism level rises.

If you don’t win the current draw, that doesn’t, will not and should not stop you from getting another lottery ticket, and telling yourself, maybe this time you will be lucky, maybe this time you will win! These types of thoughts do keep you going and have us all buying one lottery ticket after the other.

Being this way, you are always focusing on the what ifs, the hope, promise, potential, against the odds, that the good part might come true! We all want to believe that it is, remains possible to WIN! Thinking optimistically won’t put the odds in your own favor and help you win, but it will keep you going until you maybe do. That’s the power of seeing the glass as half full! What do you see or think of your glass?

Strategy # 3: Matching Up and Maximizing The Odds In Your Favor!

As everyone today knows, there is no one sure-fire, guaranteed way to effectively, successfully and for sure, change your odds of winning the big one, National UK lottery, or any kind of a lottery draw. You might be able to increase your chances of winning the draws by buying more tickets or joining a lotto club or a pool or a lotto syndicate, but you surely cannot actually change the odds,  (or could you?)

Then why do people try to as they say, beat the odds by dumping their common sense and hiring psychics and other such service providers, to help to get the winning sequence numbers?  If you looked closer, you would notice most of the people will definitely buy the lottery ticket that is a part of the largest jackpot give-away there is. This most definitely reduces their chances to win, except that one person always does win! That is the continued lure and hook that keep us coming back for more!

Have you every noticed that almost no one ever buys the tickets of lottery draws, where you have the better odds to win, thus actually changing the unchangeable odds in your favor? If you are ready to sacrifice a significant chunk of your jackpot, which would still rake in millions of pounds, if you did win this one, then you can definitely increase your chances of winning the lottery jackpot.

Consider this, there are three lotto draws, “lottery one”,  that is offering a jackpot of say 2 million pounds, now the odds of you winning this lottery one are say 1 in 12,475,557. “lottery two”, which is offering a jackpot of say, 1.8 million pounds, the odds of you winning of lottery two, is say 1 to 9,464,586. “lottery three” on the other hand is offering a jackpot worth say, 1.1 million pounds, the odds of you winning lottery three, are say 1 to 4,575,495.

Now, nearly 90% of the public, giving in to greed, usually buy the lottery tickets for lottery one, the rest of the lottery buying population is divided into buying lottery tickets of lottery two and lottery three. But you, most likely are a part of that 90%, that fail to understand that you can better up the odds and increase your chances of wining the lottery jackpot, if you just do ONE SIMPLE THING!

The only thing you will have to do is, as the bible says, is give up the greed. What that essentially means, is that you use some good old sensibility and buy the lottery ticket of the lottery which has the minimum odds against you.

In this case you should stick to buying the lottery three lottery tickets, because the odds against you, as compared to lottery one and lottery two, which are significantly less. So you could do the same in real life maybe even buy the Irish Jackpot, because the odds are less against you as compared to other lotteries. You can make it work doubly for you, in your best interest,  if you can afford to buy more tickets of the UK national lottery and the Irish national lottery.  If you stick to this strategy, it is almost as good as changing the odds in your favor. It might make you the winner, but definitely will give you more than a fair and sensible chance of winning a jackpot.

Strategy # 4: The World Of Lottery Facades

Meet Mr. Mickie, he used to play the UK National Lottery every week, used to enter in both the draws. He’s was at it for four consecutive years, now he never buy’s tickets anymore. N,o he did not win the jackpot. He had been playing the UK National lottery, for the last four years, and now today, he does not believe it could work anymore.

Not that he is not optimistic, pessimistic, or does not have faith in himself and his destiny, he simply chooses not to. What is the reason for Mr. Mickie to be so harsh on the UK National Lottery and himself? Mr. Mickie got lured into a scam and lost it all.

If you have internet access, find your way to any of the top search engines online and type in the words lottery. A whole list of consultants will pop up, offering various lottery based services such as secrets of lottery houses, proven systems of winning lotteries and systems that generate the winning sequence of numbers.

Not just Mr. Mickie, but many others have fallen for these types of lures, schemes and empty promises.  These organizations are good, extremely creative and amazingly persuasive with their explanations, creative content and customer service. Many people get roped in. People fail to look at such offerings practically.

Let’s assume that there was one such organization which could generate the winning sequence of/for the UK National Lottery. I hired them, to generate me a number, paid them their due of say 15 pounds, which could have bought me 15 more tickets improving my odds at winning the lottery, and I did win from the sequence generated by these guys.

Would the said organization be listing its services and selling its winning sequence number generation services to you and me, while it can earn much more by just generating numbers that win the lottery, for themselves? I think not! Obviously, this does suggest something to you and me that this 15 pound service isn’t even worth one lottery ticket!

Such organizations are just scams run by some really talented people who make money off you, by giving you what you can do for yourself. There are some mathematical ways and formulas, statistics, probabilities, that can predict the randomness of numbers, but there are no such systems that can beat the randomness of numbers generated and picked for the lottery.

The only thing you can do to improve your odds for winning the lottery is buy more tickets and if you are rich enough than you can buy all the permutations and combinations that exist for the given lottery. These organizations, knowing this, still try to make a business exploiting ignorance, gullible greedy innocent people, that will fall for and embrace these types of ‘solutions’/

Looking at previous years’ winning numbers, there are systems that can to some extent, generate sequences, but they mostly work in terms of different algorithms used, still these can not beat the house. There are no guarantees.

There is almost no way of beating any legal lottery system. But these organizations with their very persuasive marketing departments, will always play on people, who jump over their dreams, hopes and optimism, to losing their common sense and actually buying, the sequence generated and other such lottery winning solutions offered by such companies, without a real hope or guarantee of anything, let alone winning!

Strategy # 5: What’s with the wins?

What do you do when you actually do win the National UK Lottery? How winning the national lottery, affects people is as varied, as the varying people winning. Apart from giving them a sense of complete independence financially, it also reinstates their faith in many things and generally does make them more open towards the positive side of the life.

Winning a lottery does also seem to make them stand up comedians, like when asked by a reporter how was he or she feeling about the win, they never fail to leave the funny bits, like “You know its funny, I almost threw away my lottery ticket”. Score one for their hidden pessimism.

Then when the real question comes in which goes something like this, “What are you going to do with the lottery money you just won?”, nine out ten people speculate, but at the same time, from the moment they bought the lottery ticket, they have always spent their lottery wins doing something or the other with it, irrespective of whether they win the next draw or not.

Many usually do end up, giving some part of their wins to charity, mostly to churches or the like, depending on their caste and religion, since their faith in god reaches new heights, after winning a lottery or two. Most others, do start their own restaurants, go for six months world touring vacations, save up for their next honeymoon and more often than not, buy more lottery tickets!

For some, winning the lottery is the easy part, deciding what to do with the wins, the tougher part. With their conscience, morality, faith and belief in god, it is difficult to split wins between temptations and moralities.

Most of them admit that they knew they were going to win the lottery, they had a dream or an intuition, or same fore-teller told them so, but everyone in general who does buy the UK National Lottery tickets, always thinks he or she is going to win, otherwise why but the lottery tickets in the first place?

So in the end, it does makes sense to start deciding what do with the money you are supposedly or assuredly, potentially going to win, when you actually buy the tickets.  That way you can save yourself a whole lot of turmoil of actually deciding the same, when you do win the jackpot!

Most of us are in a state of shock, the first time we have won the lottery, with most deciding their lottery numbers, and contributing these picked numbers to their benevolent cosmic role, played by the hands of fate.

But how many believe, that the hand of fate or fortuned luck or even for that matter a starry destiny, have to do with the fact, of you winning any kind of jackpot or sweepstakes?  Ask and answer for yourself: What factor you (would, could, should or do) contribute your winning the lottery or draw to? Is it religion, god, fate, intuition, dream, fortune, fortune tellers or simply, you or LUCK, random draw? Most winners will go on about their daily lives, just a jackpot richer. Wondering and worrying about what to do with it, not really that large a concern. Why? Well, you know it doesn’t really matter! Know why? …Because you just won the UK National Lottery!
